Friends of the Shelter is a special program organized by Quixote Humane, Inc. specifically to assist the Valencia County Animal Shelter and the pets that are being housed there. The program acquires needed supplies and accessories that can not be easily obtained under the limited budget provided by the county. Special items that have been provided include specialized bleach used for decontaminating the kennels; a software program for creating a database of animals that are taken into custody; and blankets and mats for the kennels.
