4th Annual Chihuahua Easter Parade - Saturday, 4 April 2009

The Fourth Annual Enchantment Chihuahua Rescue Easter Parade in the Flower Pavilion at Expo New Mexico was another great success! The event featured;

Live entertainment

A silent auction

Animal related vendor booths

Three $100 cash raffle drawings

and the highlight of the day - the Costume Competition.

The Easter Parade is Enchantment Chihuahua’s annual fundraiser to benefit the medical fund for our rescue dogs. Many of our rescue dogs come to us because they require emergency or long term medical care for injury or disease. There are more than seventy-five dogs currently in our program available for adoption.

Pictures with Santa Claws

All of us had a great time taking holiday picture with Santa at PetSmart. Photos can included multiple pets and family members that could fit in Santa’s lap and in front of the fireplace in the Pet Hotel at the far end of the store. [We had one family with seven people and 3 large dogs!] The 4 x 6 photo and collector frame is a lovely memento for Christmas 2008. A $5 donation was made to our rescue with each digital photo package purchased..

When: Sat December 6 and Sunday December 7, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Where: PetSmart, 1424 Mercantile NE, Albuquerque, NM

[Just off Montano and I-25. Across the parking lot from REI.]

Puppies and Clay - As one of the special shows in their annual series, Tome Gallery sponsored "Puppies & Clay" featuring the animal welfare organization, "Quixote Humane" directed by Judy Babcock of Bosque Farms, and original Stoneware interior/exterior Pottery designs by Anne Marie Werner-Smith, a Tome Gallery member, also from Bosque Farms.

The show was a great success. Thanks to all who stopped by and supported animal rescue in Valencia County.

2nd Annual Chihuahua Easter Parade - Saturday, 7 April 2007

The 2nd Annual Chihuahua Easter Parade and Fund Raiser for Enchantment Chihuahua Rescue was a great success. Although the weather was more like winter than spring - cloudy and cold with an occasional snow flake - we still had twenty Chihuahuas and Chihuahua "wannabees" participate in the Easter Parade and Costume competition. And still more Chihuahuas brought their owners to get pictures with the Easter Bunny and just hang out.

The final tally is in, and the Event raised over $3500 that will go to the medical expense fund to cover the costs of saving abandoned Chihuahuas. Thanks for all the support.

Honeywell Employees Play Santa for Quixote Humane - Christmas Eve 2006

Happy Holidays from Honeywell!!!!

For a second year, Quixote Humane was selected as one of the charities that employees of Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Systems, Albuquerque , NM, supported on their Christmas Tree of Giving. Two of our volunteers, Dianne Paiko and Jo Costick, organized and presented our wish list. Once again there was a wonderful outpouring of donations to benefit our foster kids: bags of dog food, lots of treats, small collars, piddle pads, chewies & rawhides, toys, pooch pouch material,  contributions and gift cards to  WalMart! The gifts will all go to good use supporting our fosters. The contributions and gift cards will be invaluable to supplement the foster kids’ needs and allow us to get those special items that we can not always plan for. As a totally volunteer organization, Quixote Humane members contribute their own time and resources to care for their foster rescues and get them into deserving homes.

Thank you. again, to all of the employees at Honeywell for your thoughtfulness and generosity to help give our rescue dogs a very Merry Christmas and a chance for the future. Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year to all.

Quixote Humane partnered with ANEW to hold an adoption clinic on Saturday, 16 December 2006, at the Petsmart at 350 Eubank Ave, Albuquerque. Over a dozen cats and dogs found "forever" homes that day, and Quixote Humane had applications for five of it's fosters. Thanks to all for a great event.
